Sound Recordings Covers audio tape and audio disc recordings, and provides access to

the Sound Recordings Index, which contains descriptive entries for 2,580 sound

recordings held by the Archives.

Golden Jubilee In honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth IIs Golden Jubilee as Queen

of Canada and her visit to British Columbia in October of 2002, the BC Archives presents

on-line exhibit on previous royal visits to the province titled: Welcoming the Royals: The

Archival Legacy.

Moving Images Covers motion picture film and videotape recordings, including both

government and non-government productions, and provides access to the Moving Images

Index, which contains descriptive entries for almost 4,000 moving image titles.

The BC Archives Amazing Time Machine features eleven educational galleries covering

BC. History topics drawn from the Province's K-12 social studies curriculum. The

galleries have been designed for use by school children, their teachers and parents;

however the content will also appeal to anyone interested in British Columbia's history.

Visual Records Covering photographs, paintings, drawings, and prints, and providing

access to the Visual Records Index (containing over 179,000 textual descriptions, and

featuring over 84,000 images on-line).

Genealogy Highlights  many of the important sources of genealogy information available

at the BC Archives. Also featured are the British Columbia Historical Vital Event

Indexes, which consists of searchable databases. Birth registrations may be released 120

years following the date of birth; marriage registrations may be released 75 years

following the date of the marriage; and death registrations may be released 20 years after

the date of death.
